I really can't figure out what to talk about now, you know almost everything about me, at least the important parts. Life has been so hectic lately that I don't even have time to do or achieve anything new, there's nothing really remarkable about this year yet.
So I'm here with kind of a tutorial, Let's give a round of applause toooo... Sophi presents "How to be a senior and not die trying".
(Imagine applauses and hearing noises lol)
If you paid any attention to my first entry you know that I'm a Senior, I'm in my last year of High School in a little not really known school in my city. It being little and unknown doesn't make it easy or light weight though, it's kinda really stressful to be honest. I have no idea how am I gonna live through this year but I'm going to gather up my very best pieces of advice for you.
First of all, don't get stressed. Okay, obviously this is satire because I don't know how to not get stressed, but that's what almost every adult in my life tells me "you're just too stressed, you need to relax". I mean HOW, I have a ton of homework to do, I'm going to this pre-college thing that takes a lot of time, I have a life and I have to study. Considering all of this, in order to try to not get stressed, I have hobbies: I read sometimes, I crochet and I sleep.
You may think "but sleeping isn't a hobby". But, my dear reader, I guarantee you that it is. When you have little to no time to sleep at night or you just don't get to rest, take any free time that you get to sleep. That's at least what I do, I use my almost-non-existent free time to take naps and I love them, they are my greatest hobby because they make me really happy.
How else can we not get stressed? I really want to say that you should let everything go and just focus on making your last year of school the best in every way you can. But, I totally get that it is not nearly that easy. Adults tell you that all the time and I don't know when they forgot that they where teenagers once too and felt the same pressure that we're feeling now. How are we supossed to figure our entire lifes out in less than a year? We don't know how the real world works yet but still we're kinda forced to choose how we want to live in it.
All things considered, my best pieces of advice are: sleep and don't listen to adults. When you're 30 or 50 or 80 years old you're totally going to regret not enjoying your youth. Sleep as much as you can because if you pay attention you're going to notice that adults are always pissed off because they don't get to rest as much as they would like, or nearly as much as they need.
And. DON'T. LISTEN. TO. THEM. It is not your responsibility to live the life they would've wanted to have. I must say though that sometimes adults have great advice to give you, so what I mean when I say that you shouldn't listen to them is that you shouldn't let them decide for you what you wanna do with your life.
It is not even necesssary that you decide right now, you can figure it out on the way, you can do a ton of things. The only thing that you should totally is be happy.
You have to be happy, you deserve to be happy with your life. Other people's feelings are their responsibility, not yours. It is time that people start to acknowledge that.
With that being said I'm assuming that you, dear Senior student, feel better now. Because if this didn't help you a lot, at least now you know for sure that you're not alone, and that several of us are going through this same situation.
Hang in there, I got you.
Love, Sophi.
