Chapter 06: How to have hobbies and not die trying

A pic of me wearing a hat that I made ;)

There's not really that much things that I'm good at, so it's kinda hard to find topics to share with you all. So another thing that actually I mentioned here before (on my how to be a senior entry) is that a have a few hobbies, and things that I really like to do.

First of all I love languages, I really like to learn new things and I truly believe that learning languages opens new doors to everything. Learning English has been a big part of my life since I was really little and though I'm not a native speaker or anything, being able to understand and speak this language has become a part of my personality.

Though learning English and other languages is a hobby by itself, it helps with another hobbies too. Music, movies, TV shows, books, even finding information on the internet is easier when you know more than one language.

Another hobby: crocheting. I learned when I was little but I never really cared for it until last year, covid was driving me crazy and I needed to do something to relax and entertain me, so I learned how to crochet. It is quite easy once you get it right, and you only need a crochet hook and a bunch of yarn. You can make beautiful creations out of it and the crochet community on Instagram and Tiktok is really fun, I even have made some Instagram friends.

So, how to have hobbies and not die trying? Find something that you like and go for it! Don't do something thinking that you need to be good at it, just do it for the thrill of doing it. Having something that you like and enjoy is healthy and sooo good for you.

Who knows? Maybe we can crochet together sometime ;)

Love, Sophi.
